This was the series of images that I created for Uni with the intention of them being seen in 'Vogue'. I was inspired by the 1940's and the woman's role within WW2 and the way they were represented, as I found out that just recently that an organisation called WASPS have only just been recognised for their contribution to the war. I shot in an abandoned army camp that was used for flight navigation during the war. I wanted the images to feel like they were film stills and to appear nostalgic. I decided to use smoke because in my end landscape shot there is an image of a plane and during the war there were bombs dropped that would of created a lot of smoke, so I decided to use this in creating the same kind of atmosphere during this time.
This project consisted of quite a big team. I had my mum Angela Lowery @ Y Salon doing the hair and Julie Patterson on the make up. Two trusty assistants, one being Amy and the other Joe Hodgekinson. The beautiful models were Lewis Jamison from Tyne Tees Models and Andrea from Elite Models London. The styling was done by myself and my mum, which was a combination of bought, made and borrowed clothing.
